Uplifted vs Icon

Own and understand your creative, tied to your real results vs. pay a service to film new UGC ads for you.

Which one should you choose?

Quick verdict

Choose Uplifted as the system of record for your own creative — organized, understood by AI, tied to its real conversion performance from platforms like Meta and Google, and remembered over time. Choose Icon (icon.com) if you want a production service: six human-filmed UGC ads a month, handed over. Ads you buy anywhere are worth more inside a library that learns.

Choose Uplifted if

  • You want to organize, search, and understand your own creative library — every video, image, ad, and raw file
  • You want performance tied to your real ads on Meta AND Google, down to the clip and scene
  • You want a system that remembers your brand, audience, and what worked
  • You want reviews, approvals, and sharing around the same library

Icon may fit if

  • Your main need is having new UGC ads produced for you each month, end to end
  • You want built-in competitor ad-spy and one-click launch to Meta specifically
  • You'd rather buy ad production as a service than build creative capability in-house

Where the platforms diverge

Two different shapes: Icon fills the "make and launch new ads" axes; Uplifted fills the "own, understand, and learn from your creative" axes. The question is whether you're buying ads or building a creative operation.

What do Icon reviews actually say?

Community verified

Icon (icon.me, now icon.com) holds a 3.4/5 TrustScore across 41 Trustpilot reviews (verified July 2026). The record is genuinely mixed — praise for output volume, speed, and a responsive team; complaints about bugs, ad quality, aggressive upsell pop-ups, and a hard-to-exit subscription. One more thing the review pages won't tell you: almost all of those reviews describe the AI Admaker — the product Icon retired when it relaunched as "the Human Admaker" in 2026. The reviews you're researching and the product now being sold are not the same thing. Below, the record verbatim — and how Uplifted answers.

"Trying to do everything… doing nothing well."

"I feel like the company is trying to do everything related to ad creative, but doing nothing well. They go wide, but not deep." — Trustpilot, 3-star review, Mar 2025

Uplifted goes deep on one job: being the system of record for your creative. Every asset organized, understood, searchable, and tied to your real results — not eight thin tools stapled to a production service.

"Glitchy, buggy" — and hard to leave.

"Glitchy, buggy, incredibly annoying how it will close you out of your ad mid-edit for no reason at all." — Trustpilot review

"I literally had to join their Slack channel just to cancel our subscription — and then you're met with a 6+ step cancellation flow." — Trustpilot review

Uplifted publishes its pricing, starts free, and you can cancel or change plans anytime. No Slack channel required to leave.

Even the fans say it's volume over quality.

"Quality isnt always there but the volume makes up for it. we just grab the good ones." — Trustpilot, 5-star review

That's the ad-generation trade in one sentence: produce a pile, cherry-pick, discard the rest. Uplifted works the opposite way — it learns from what your real ads actually did, so the next brief starts from evidence, not from a slush pile of maybes.

Their own homepage: the AI Admaker is gone.

"Icon originally launched as The AI Admaker. Today, we make 6 Human UGC for $1000 (no AI / 100% real)." — icon.com, July 2026

Icon pivoted from AI-generated ads to human-filmed ones — their site now leads with "no AI / 100% real." If you came here researching the AI Admaker, that product's era is over; what's for sale is a monthly UGC production service. Uplifted's AI, meanwhile, does a different job entirely: it doesn't generate ads, it understands the creative you already own.

The software exists to feed the service.

Icon's Admaker 2.0 modules describe themselves in one direction — toward Icon's production queue. Creative Library: "Upload existing assets so we can reuse what works for Human UGC." Creative Analytics: "Share winners & losers in Meta to help us make winning Human UGC." Adspy: "Save competitor ads for us to copy." It's a client portal for their agency workflow, and it's "Made for Meta ads" — their words — with no Google coverage.

Uplifted's platform points the other way: at your team. Your library tagged and searchable for you, your Meta AND Google performance attached to every asset for you, your brand context remembered for your next campaign — whether or not you ever buy ads from anyone.

Comparing Icon to Motion, Air, or Recharm? Icon's site claims Admaker 2.0 "replaces" all three. Look at what each module actually is before believing that: the analytics is Meta-only sharing to inform their production, and the library is an upload bucket. If creative analytics is the real job, see [Uplifted vs Motion]; if the library is the real job, see [Uplifted vs Air] and [Uplifted vs Recharm]. Uplifted does those jobs as products, not as intake forms.

Frequently asked questions

It depends which job you're hiring for. If you want a service that films new UGC ads for you every month, that's Icon's product and Uplifted doesn't do it. If you want to own your creative — organize it, search it, understand it, tie it to your real Meta and Google ad performance, and remember what worked — that's Uplifted's product and Icon doesn't do it. Many teams that tried ad-generation tools end up needing the second job done first: the ads you make or buy are only as good as what you know about the creative that already worked.
Icon is an ad-making company founded by the ex-Skio founder and backed by Founders Fund. It launched in 2025 at icon.me as "the AI Admaker" — AI-assembled video ads from your content library — and later moved to icon.com and relaunched as "the Human Admaker": a subscription service that delivers six human-filmed UGC ads per month (two creators, three ads each), explicitly marketed as "no AI / 100% real." It bundles Admaker 2.0 software: brief tracking, competitor ad-spy, Meta creative analytics, an asset-upload library, AI image/video generation (AssetGPT), and one-click Meta ad launch.
Icon is a real company with real customers (their site cites 288+ brands) and prominent investors. Reviews are mixed: Icon holds a 3.4/5 TrustScore across 41 Trustpilot reviews, with praise for output volume and team responsiveness, and complaints about bugs, ad quality, pushy upsell pop-ups, and a multi-step cancellation flow. Note that almost all public reviews cover the earlier AI Admaker product, which Icon retired when it pivoted to human-made UGC in 2026 — the current Human Admaker service has a much thinner public review record so far.
As of July 2026, icon.com/pricing lists one main plan: $1,000/month for 6 human UGC ads (2 creators × 3 ads each), including the Admaker 2.0 software, with a 3-day free trial ("$0 today"), unlimited revisions, and a refund guarantee. A Dedicated Creative Director tier and Agency Whitelabel tier are custom/volume priced. Note: many third-party review sites still list Icon at $399/month — or the old AI Admaker's $39/month entry plan — both stale. The current published price on icon.com is $1,000/month.
Uplifted publishes its pricing: Core at $249/month (the full AI-organized library — tags, clips, transcripts, search, reviews and approvals) and Scale at $499/month (adds the AI agent, Meta and Google ad performance, and the Context Hub), with custom Enterprise plans for multi-brand teams. There's a free way to start. If you've seen different numbers on a third-party comparison page, the current pricing is always at uplifted.ai/pricing.
Icon makes new ads for you — human UGC creators plus software for spying on competitors and launching to Meta. Uplifted makes your own creative work for you — one library where every asset is understood by AI, connected to your real Meta and Google performance, and remembered over time, with reviews and approvals built in. Icon is a production service you buy ads from; Uplifted is the system your creative operation runs on. They can coexist — but the ads Icon delivers are just files until something organizes them, learns what performed, and turns that into the next brief.
Not in the way a creative library does. Icon's Creative Library module is described on their own site as a place to "upload existing assets so we can reuse what works for Human UGC" — an intake for their production team. There's no AI tagging of your assets' content, no transcription, no natural-language or visual search, and no performance history on your own library. Uplifted is the asset-management system itself: everything imported, tagged from what's actually in each file, split into searchable clips, and tied to your Meta and Google results.
